2001 Norwich Native Son Pete Slosberg, author of Beer for Pete’s Sake had a life-changing experience in 1979 when he tried making wine. Unwilling to wait five years for it to mature, he decided to make beer instead because it took only six weeks. The result was a revelation–he loved it.
During the next seven years he became an avid homebrewer, and word of his excellent ale spread. In 1986, in partnership with a colleague from ROLM/IBM, he incorporated Pete’s Brewing Company, and started making Pete’s Wicket Ale.
Pete Slosberg earned his BS from Columbia Engineering and his MBA from Columbia’s Business School. In 2004, he was named one of the 250 greatest Columbia University alumni of all time.
