— Florencia, the Argentine exchange student staying with the Wicklesses, hopes to travel to the west coast. She is raising money and is willing to work to do that.
— Don Dykes talked about Relay for Life at Dodd Stadium. Montville Rotarians provide food and drinks to the participants for the full 24 hours – at no cost. Program: Jack Solomon of East Hampton, the district governor and a three-time Paul Harris Fellow, is a chemist, was the speaker. He says there are 57 clubs in southern Connecticut. He says Rotary International President Mark Danielson, whose motto for the year is “Rotary Connects The World.” How do we do that?

He wants to look for ways to create new club membership models.
He wants new paths to Rotary membership.
He says every club should have a Rotaract club for high school students.
He says every club should have a membership committee.
- Involve Families More.
- More focus on the United Nations.
Before the first UN meeting, Rotary received an invitation to send three people to the first meeting. Rotary sent 11. The bond continues. The UN anniversary date is Nov. 11 and hopes each club can connect in some way.
Jack asks the district clubs to focus on STEM. For example, work with high school robot teams. Work with a local team to determine their community service project. Or create and organize a STEM summer camp.
