Rotary Club of Norwich
November 6th, 2019
THE RONE
Presiding: President Mike Cooney
Invocation: Gary Young
Some people cry and make a fuss
It has been reviewed and often discussed
Why does our money say “In God We Trust”
Could it be because God has been good to us
We’ve been blessed beyond measure that’s the truth
Just take a look around-do we need proof
And for those who always like to keep track
We have plenty because we always give back
Sometimes we are serious-sometimes we are funny
There’s a coat drive coming up that costs lots of money
And while to us food on the table is no big deal
We join Liberty Bank so our neighbors get a good meal
The stuff we do brings smiles to lots of faces
In Norwich, in CT and in far away places
So “In God We Trust” we will soon discover
Is what we pass on when we love one another
Almost forgot this little side note
Yesterday was important-hope you remembered to vote
Now let’s give thanks for the usual stuff
For the food and fellowship always more than enough
And until we get together again
Let’s praise the Lord and say AMEN

Happy Dollars: Rodney Green
Rodney Green started things off saying he was on a cruise to the west coast of Mexico. Found interesting “Road Packer” art that made 4’X3’ prints!
Gary Young lost three Scrabble games in a row to Stan Lucas’s sister Annie! Gary also said he was the winner of the Stan Lucas lookalike contest! Gary also reminded members to contribute to the Benjie Hong Scholarship fund.
Theresa Madonna Warned Rotarians that if they see sparkles in their vision don’t mess around and go see an eye doctor quickly. She ended up having a detached retina that could have ended in blindness if not caught quickly! Theresa also returned from a trip to Ireland. She highly suggests purchasing the additional insurance on a rental car that covers tires!
Jen Grainger was grateful to spend tinner with her parents for their 70th wedding anniversary and she is leaving soon for a vacation to Costa Rica!
Andy Grant was still getting over Stan Lucas beating him in a recent tennis match. Andy is awaiting the birth of a granddaughter soon! Also, a recent storm washed his Hobie Cat sailboat away into Long Island Sound never to be seen again. New one will be on the way from New Jersey so keep bidding for a ride next season!
Mike Matera gave happy dollars for Gary Young’s excellent invocation!
Mike Cooney congratulated Andy Grant on the soon arriving granddaughter! Mike’s daughter and son enjoyed Halloween and had fun following “Trading” candy afterwards like thay were an Wall Street!
Ray Baribeault congratulated Theresa Madonna on a great article on her and her law practice in Norwich Magazine!
