1986 Norwich Native Son Frederick Mandell, a pediatrician in Brookline, MA., was a research pioneer for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and founded one of the first SID Centers in the United States. He continues to have a full time clinical practice with a loyal patient population from great distances.
He has volunteered on medical missions to Peru and has served as the pediatrician for sick Chachapoya children in the Leymabamba Clinic.
Frederick Mandell has published in numerous medical journals and has written multiple novels, including: The One-Foot Waterfall and Jacob and Rachel.
