Nancy wanted to talk about random, outdated, or forgotten uses for everyday items.
- Jeans, the tiny pocket is for a pocket watch
- Pots and pans, the hole in the handle is to hang the ladle
- The loop on the back of your dress shirts, began with sailors who hung their shirts up by the loop
- Glove compartment, early motorists used them to hold their driving gloves
- Holes in the box of aluminum foil, squish in the sides, there’s a place to hang up the role
- Drawer under the oven, warming drawer
- Original hole in converse sneakers, extra lacing flair in addition to ventilation
- Carpenter jeans, the loops were there for the hammer!
Announcements:
President Mary Richardson had the following announcements:
* Gary is doing a putting contest after the meeting, 3 tries for $10 as a 50/50 today
* Rodney suggested bringing in boxed lunches for next week, keep meeting cost at $15 and no one needs to eat in advance of the meeting.
* Rodney reported he’s been doing he coat project since 2010. Our mission is to support our community. Rodney s worried that the coat project has swallowed the club, and it takes up all our resources.
Happy Dollars: Andy Grant:
Andy: $5 remarked about the $600 PUA, and hopes it gets adjusted down!
Gary: $5, went to lunch at the putting green. Peter played 30 years ago putted from 5 feet, Barry got 15 feet, and Gary 25 ft. Gary got the free lunch

Susy: $5 Happy that Bob gave her the Rone template
Mike Gordon $20 but being on zoom, Susy did not catch the story.
Rodney Green $5 2 weeks ago he was trying to get the losses down and nobody would apply. This week, the $600 PUA bonus ended and he has received 15 applications.
Barry $3 his daughter and he went on a 2nd road trip in June. Mississippi had beautiful heritage. They had to quarantine afterward, but it was a great trip.
Laura NFA, $5 School kids will be coming back in the fall with virtual Wednesdays, in a blended model.
Andrew $1 Had a big tree taken down. 8 hrs it took to split it, good for campfire at $10 a wheel barrow load.
Mary $2 Her 2 kittens are doing well, she named them Bob and Allan.
Auction:
Bill auctioned a photo from Huntington School, first graduating class from 1929 that brought in $20 for Kevin Wickless
Kevin Wickless has 1 pound of medium dark roast ground coffee. Sold to Mary for $15
Lottery: Andrew was the first to draw and was unsuccessful. Rodney was the second one to draw and was unsuccessful.
